APRS around you

APRS is the Automatic Packet Reporting System: stations send their position, weather and short messages. HAMORA receives APRS-IS (the internet side of APRS) and shows the stations around you on a dark street map, with distance, bearing, speed and course.

Needs an internet connection

Nearby stations and station details

Besides the map, a nearby list shows each station's type (home, mobile, weather, object and more), its comment, distance and when it was last heard. Open a station for its details, or log a contact with it.

Mobile station tracks

For mobile stations, HAMORA keeps their recent positions and draws the track they've followed.

Weather and telemetry

Weather stations report temperature, wind, rain and pressure; other stations send telemetry. HAMORA shows them as they arrive.

Messages addressed to you

When someone sends an APRS message to your callsign, it appears in HAMORA's inbox. HAMORA doesn't send replies or acknowledgements: it is receive-only.

Clear sources and filters

Stations received over the internet are labelled "received over the internet, not by radio". Stations heard by your own radio are labelled "heard by your station". You can filter by source and by station type.

RF APRS heard by your station

Dire Wolf is a free program that decodes APRS from your radio's audio. HAMORA Bridge passes what it hears to your phone, kept apart from the internet feed. HAMORA doesn't transmit on APRS.

Needs HAMORA Bridge, Dire Wolf, A radio and audio interface

HAMORA Bridge installers are still in testing.
